Although Cap Holding was founded in 1999 by Chakib and Mohamed ALJ, the ALJ family had already completed its first acquisition with the purchase of Société Nouvelle des Moulins du Maghreb (SNMM) in 1969. This mill was originally established in 1918 by a French group.
The subsidiary Les Moulins de Berrechid was the first in a series of acquisitions that began in 2008.
